The world is finally seeing it my way

Posted by Dale on Oct 21, 2008 in opinion

It was just published, AskMen.com’s Top 49 Most Influential men.  #1 Barack Obama.  #2 Steve Jobs.  Need I say more?

The, ’soon to be the new leader of the free world’ and the single most influential man in technology are at the top of the list for most men, or at least the ones polled on this site.

Just a few others to mention:

  • Stephen Colbert #5 YEAH, that’s right! Got beat out by Downey Jr? Well, guess he did kick some serious ass in Iron Man.
  • John Mcain #10 Guess I can live with that.
  • Brett Favre #40 Turncoat. Why is he even on this list? Just to be an influence on how to screw over your fans?
  • Kevin Rose #49 Guess people just don’t understand the true power of Digg. MAN! Wish I had thought of that.

Anyway, great list of top dudes. Hope your favorite is in there somewhere too. But mine are #1 and #2, yeah baby!

Ok, this was weird? Take a look at Steve’s page, look at the related celebs. Since when did Jonathan Ive start looking like Jon Stewart?

Something to be said about a Zen life

Posted by Dale on Oct 17, 2008 in mbreo.tv, opinion

It is funny how we come across different things in life. There are the things that are in our face all the time, as of late - politics, but then there are things that make us just stop.

As a society, I feel that it is these ’stop’ moments that we are missing. There is to much noise all the time and we are so attuned to it that when the noise is gone, we are frightened. I myself will admit that I am a victim of the noise. I can’t go to bed at night without the TV on. I am not watching anything, but it is that need for the noise presence in the room that I need to, of all things, relax.

So, in the fight against noise I applaud those who are able to create so much with so little that it actually breaks the bonds of noise and just makes us stop. Below is a video I came across of one such warrior against noise. A person who was able to create something to amazing that is actually makes people stop, sit and only be there.

Have you left no sense of decency?

Joseph Welch. On June 9, 1954

Let us not assassinate this lad further, Senator…. You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?

In a modern recreation of one of the greatest political confrontations, Keith Olbermann - host of Countdown on MSNBC, threw it down like I have never seen before.

In this hair raising Special Comment, Keith calls John McCain and his endless spewing of hate for what it really is. A dangerous loaded gun. Look John, is winning an election really worth the possible national tragedy you may cause? Will you suspend your campaign for that one, huh?
